Product Details

The KIT5/Marine is the ideal analysis kit for those who need to take several samples of oil to send in for analysis. This kit comes with 5 x FA-ST LUBEKIT1-Marine, our generic marine oil sampling kit (see below for further information), is ideal for extracting and having any lubricating oils used on your vessel analysed at our lab. The kit is also supplied with our VSGP28 vacuum sampling pump allowing for easy extraction of oil samples. The KIT5's also come in our light duty carry case the ideal for storage of analysis kits and taken samples.

Our Marine Oil Analysis kit is ideal for having any type of oil used on board analysed at our independent ISO accredited laboratory. This is a generic kit and can provide analysis for marine engines, hydraulic systems, winches, gearboxes, thrusts or any system that requires oil. All oil samples sent into our laboratory will have the following tests carried out as standard:

  • A full Spectrographic Analysis(elemental analysis) to assess potential wear metals and monitor levels. Check and ensure oil additive levels are maintained, and detect contaminants such as Boron, Sodium and Silicon that might have entered your system.
  • Total Ferrous Debris(PQ/FW index) to monitor magnetic wear particles regardless of size.
  • Oil Viscosity at 40°C to ensure that the oil can provide the lubrication and heat transfer requirements that your engine requires.
  • Detect Water that might have entered the engine with the K.Fisher water test

Depending on the application of the oil a range of other tests will be carried out relevant to the system.

  • Hydraulic Oils- Will also have an ISO 4406 Cleanliness code determined ensuring the oil is clean and prevent additional abrasive wear occurring to components.
  • Engine Oils- Will have the Soot to monitor any issues during the combustion process leading to soot build up. Sulphation to detect the build up of sulphur based acids. Oxidation to monitor the oxidation level of the oil as this can lead to increases in the oil viscosity. Nitration in industrial oil samples is an indication of a thermal breakdown of the oil. Fuel Vo l on any engine samples where the viscosity is low then a fuel dilution test will be carried out.
