Product Details

The specification for AdBlue is defined within ISO2224 although our analysis does not meet this standard however we base our analysis on this standard. We aim to offer our customers a cost effective analysis of AdBlue to gauge the condition and ensure it it fit for purpose and preforming to the expected levels. Should the results of your initial AdBlue analysis show there is an issue then we can carry out further tests as required.

For our initial AdBlue analysis our independent laboratory will test your AdBlue for:

  • Density g/m³ 10870 - 10930 How heavy the fuel is and has a relationship with Cetane rating, this can Indirectly point to other sources of contamination. Density of the ADBLU varies slightly depending on the ambient temperature. ADBlu 1.087 Kg/m3 - 1.093 Kg/m3 between 15 degrees Celsius and about 25 degrees Celsius. The specific gravity of a liquid is basically the ratio of the density of a substance when compared to a standard. In most cases that standard is water.
  • Urea 31.8% - 33.2% - For AdBlue to preofrm it's role of converting Nitrogen Oxides into water vapour and Nitrogen then the correct Urea level is essential. To allow it to preform the content of Urea must be between 31.8% - 33.2%
  • Appearance - Monitoring the appearance of your AdBlue will give you a indication of whether it could be unsuitable for use. AdBlue should be colourless Liquid with slight ammonia odour, if you are using AdBlue that doesn't have these characteristics then we strongly suggest getting it analysed.
  • Ferrous Wear Index - Rather than being a test for the AdBlue the Ferrous Wear Index to to check the conditions of the tank that the AdBlue is stored in. The Ferrous Wear Index is to detect any magnetic particles in a substance. In this case it would be looking for rust particles that could entre the AdBlue from storage tanks that are in poor condition.
