1888SH Basic High Viscosity Oil Filter Cartridge

The FA-ST 1888SH High Viscosity Oil Filter Cartridge is your go-to solution for basic filtration needs in high viscosity oils, designed to fit seamlessly into the 9788/KU85 filter housing used in most of our filtration systems. Engineered with an outer cardboard sleeve, this filter prevents back pressure build-up by creating an area where oil can bypass the cartridge, ensuring a continuous flow.

While the bypass feature maintains flow, it comes with the trade-off that the oil bypassing the cartridge remains unfiltered, retaining particulate contaminants. For effective gear oil filtration, we recommend using the 1888SH for initial filtration to remove most contaminants, followed by our premium high viscosity filter to achieve the desired cleanliness level.

Applied to wind turbines, transmissions, gearboxes, and applications using oil between 120-460 viscosity, the 1888SH filter cartridge is ideal for engines with sump capacities of 18 gallons/90 litres or hydraulic systems with tanks up to 300 gallons/1360 litres. Crafted from tightly wound filter media, a 1-micron 2mm base layer, and a cardboard outer sleeve with handles, this cartridge ensures reliable filtration in various temperature conditions.
